We like to say our story began with a swipe right and a wagging tail. It was May 2022 when we first met at Metazoa Brewing Co. in Indianapolis. Adam, a proud new dog dad, brought along his puppy, Penny—unaware she was destined to become his ultimate wing-pup. As we sipped our beers and watched Penny charm everyone around us, something just clicked. By the end of the evening, it was clear that this was only the start of something special.

For our second date, Adam invited Gillian over to cook a homemade Italian dinner. Spoiler alert: cacio e pepe isn’t quite as effortless as TikTok makes it appear. But Gillian, gracious and patient, ate every bite with a smile. That’s when Adam knew she was truly special. This culinary mishap marked the beginning of countless kitchen adventures together, each one (thankfully) more delicious than the last.

We jumped headfirst into our relationship, embracing risks that always seemed to pay off. Just six months later, we (including Penny!) settled into a cozy townhome in downtown Indianapolis, quickly making it our haven. Our mutual love for cooking (despite the infamous cacio e pepe incident), pasta, and exploring new places has led us on incredible journeys. Together, we’ve celebrated Adam’s beloved Georgia Bulldogs clinching a national championship in Los Angeles and danced the night away at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Las Vegas. Our passports have been stamped in the Bahamas, Ireland, England, and Italy, each adventure deepening our love and filling our camera rolls with unforgettable memories.

On a beautiful spring day in April 2024, surrounded by our parents and closest friends, Adam got down on one knee outside the Bottleworks Hotel in Indianapolis. Amid tears, laughter, and a joyous “Yes!”, we toasted our future with champagne, sharing our excitement over a celebratory dinner.

As we prepare to say “I do” in Italy, we can’t help but reflect on our incredible journey—from that memorable first date with Penny to planning our wedding in a stunning Italian castle. Our story has been filled with laughter, love, and more than a few leaps of faith.
